ACCUTYPE recognizes the significant changes the HIPAA regulations present to the health care industry, and most importantly, to our clients. We are committed to helping our customers achieve HIPAA compliance within the timelines established by the regulations. To this end, we have established a committee comprised of Senior Management representatives to monitor the effectiveness, status, and timing of all internal business activities as well as maintaining educational programs for training internal and external clients on the requirements of HIPAA. ACCUTYPE is expending substantial effort to be responsive and knowledgeable regarding the regulations and their impact on our customers.
In addition, ACCUTYPE is unique in that we have invested millions of dollars to own and operate our own SAS-70 Type II certified data center. Our data center meets several stringent requirements relating to; electrical redundancy, network redundancy, dire detection and suppression, environmental controls and premise security, just to name a few. This translates into a level of data availability and security unmatched in the transcription industry.
ACCUTYPE requires all new hires and contractors to complete an orientation class that covers such items as building security and access, telecommunication policies, and computer usage policies. In addition, all new hires and contractors are required to sign a confidentiality agreement and a legally binding agreement to protect our customer’s confidential patient information.
